We find that canvas adds a beautiful texture and a classic feel to our images. It also completely eliminates the need for glare control, because no glass is used to frame it. (All of our canvas pieces are treated with an appropriate UV light blocker.) Being glass-free has the additional benefit of making the piece lighter in weight, and therefore able to be hung in places where a heavy frame might be too much for the supporting structures.

That is by and large a matter of personal preference. Frames do add a degree of structural support and protection for the canvas, especially on the larger sizes, but they certainly are not required for the successful display of your canvas.
