Avalanche Lake
Lying tucked away in a quiet but easily accessible corner of Glacier National Park, Avalanche Lake is an easy hike from the main road. One of the more commonly visited of the park's lakes, it rewards those willing to make the hike with spectacular reflections, good fishing, and the occasional mountain goat trolling the mountainsides that surround it. While getting there is easy, it is such a peaceful, welcoming place that leaving it is difficult indeed.
"Nature is art brought to life: often beautiful and inspiring, always fragile and in need of loving care" -- Jodi Gaylord
