Released 2012-06-16 Galapagos Mockingbird, Nesomimus parvulus Although not as famous as their avian cousins the finches, the four species of mockingbirds found in the Galapagos archipelago were actually the first animals noted by Charles Darwin to have slightly different adaptations depending upon their location. This descendant of the spark for the theory of evolution sang atop a tree as the evening sun cast its warming rays sideways.
