The often colorful dragonfly is usually found near bodies of water. Most of its life is spent in the larval stage, during which the dragonfly actually lives in the water. As an adult, dragonflies are immensely useful to humans: they eat mosquitoes, flies, ants, and other insects. They are very talented aerial acrobats, able to fly in six different directions: up, down, forward, back, and to each side. Yet despite this immensity of skill, and the fact that they have six legs, they are unable to walk.
"Nature is art brought to life: often beautiful and inspiring, always fragile and in need of loving care" -- Jodi Gaylord
