Bull Moose, Alces alces

On a wet, drizzly, rainy weekend, I set off in a canoe to find moose. This was certainly not the ideal weather for it, but the trip had been planned months in advance, and there was no backing out now. But one thing can be said for inclement weather: it can provide some gorgeous photo opportunities.

As the sun tried its best to break through the misty clouds, it managed nothing more than to brighten the sky a bit, but that was enough. When this bull moose came running, it was only a few seconds before his silhouette was lost to the trees across the lake, then HE was lost to the trees across the lake. But those were a beautiful few seconds.
