Released 2009-10-03 Yellow-billed Stork, Mycteria ibis Though its more famous cousin the flamingo is perhaps the most well-known bird for its ability to stand -- and even sleep -- on one leg for long periods of time, many other birds share this ability. I even saw one yellow-billed stork attempt this feat while standing on the back of a hippopotamus -- a short-lived endeavor, as the hippo kept moving under the bird.
