Panthera leo
While driving in the Crater, we came upon this pile of lionesses stretched out in the evening sun. They were all laying upon one another, feet, tails, and whiskers wrapped around each other, pointing in every direction. From our vantage point, it was impossible to determine exactly how many animals constituted the mass of bodies in front of us. Every once in a while a tail would twitch, inevitably smacking another apparently disembodied head square on the nose, or upon hearing a noise, a pair of eyes would peer over a back that did not belong to it. Finally one of the lionesses would turn completely over, and for a brief moment, we could put feet, tail, head and body all together in the same animal.
