Panthera leo

This lioness, one of a group of four that had temporarily wandered away from the larger pride, casually searched for a shady spot in which to escape the midday sun. She turned during her stroll and began to walk straight toward me. Though she was not on the hunt, her unwaveringly direct path nonetheless made me glad that I was not intended to be part of the midday menu.
