Shoshone Falls
Shoshone Falls near Twin Falls, Idaho, are notable for several things, not least of which is the presence of such a large waterfall in such an arid landscape. Possibly the most striking characteristic of the falls, however, is the frequent, if ephemeral, appearance of a rainbow in front of the falls. Mist from the cascading water provides a constantly shifting canvas upon which the rays of the sun may paint, but the strong winds rushing down the canyon ensure that the rainbow is constantly in flux.
"Nature is art brought to life: often beautiful and inspiring, always fragile and in need of loving care" -- Jodi Gaylord
