Loxodonta africana
Bull elephants are territorial, and will protect what is theirs -- in this case, the right to mate with several females that are just over the ridge. This bull was pacing back and forth along the small ridge upon which he stood, continually blocking the path of another bull that was also pacing, on the far side of a dry river bed that separated the two. No serious challenge was ever issued, but that did not stop this bull from keeping a close eye on the second.
