Released 2007-12-22 Bull Moose, Alces alces The largest member of the deer family, moose generally share some of the same characteristics of their smaller cousins when it comes to interactions with humans. Overall, they tend to be skiddish around people, but some individuals grow accustomed to living among us bipeds. This can be very dangerous, for the humans, certainly, but most especially for the moose. Some homeowners may see the moose as a nuisance, especially when the moose begins to eat trees or flowers prized by the homeowner. This can result in animal control being called to relocate the moose. When moose lose their fear of humans, they become more susceptible to hunters. And where there are people, there are cars. Despite the moose's large size (bulls can weigh upwards of 1300 lbs), they are no match for a 2000 lb vehicle traveling at 60 mph.
