Released 2009-10-03 Ostriches, Struthio camelus, and Burchell's Zebra Equus burchelli On the African plains, herbivores mix freely, being no danger to each other. Nonetheless, it caught my attention that here were a group of birds, each of whom is larger than the members of the horse family standing next to them. Birds larger than horses? In Africa, absolutely.
