Released 2009-10-03 I was surprised to come across lilies growing in the wild as far north as Alaska; I had always considered them a plant in need of much warmer climes. How mistaken I was. Many varieties actually grow quite well there, and though I cannot say with any certainty that they are native to Alaska, some varieties, at least, have "gone feral," and are doing quite well, thank you.
